DUNEDIN.

This day

A letter has been received from Conway j with regard to the re-visit of a team of English professional cricketers. He says ! the tour in New Zealand will begin in January early, in the south ; the team will travel north to Auckland and Napier.

An inquest was held yesterday on the body of a boy named Cross, who was shot by his brother. The latter picked up a gun supposed to be unloaded and put a cap on the nipple ; suddenly it exploded and the ramrod, which was in the barrel, entered the other boy's back. He died at the Hospital from the effects. The verdict was •• Accidental death."
