Monday. Mr Harry Prince writes to say that the purchase of Sir Modred, Sonanus, and Idalium was hona fide on his own behalf, and not as an agent for Australian principals or others. He adds : " Each and all of them will be raced by me on their merits. 1' The Colonial Bank directors' report for half year ending June 30th ult., shows a profit after providing for bad and doubtful debts, etc., of £15,410 3s lOd, after adding the balance of the previous half year, and dividing the tax on notes in circulation, Property Tax, etc., the balance available is £16,396 17s lid to be appropriated as follows ; Added to the reserve fund, £2000 (making £30,000 in all); payment of a dividend of 6 per cent., £12,000; balance carried forward, £2396 17s lid.
