AUCKLAND.

This day. There is considerable exsiteraent here over to-morrow's division. It is said that Hust holds the position. Wires are going from here urging him to declare his hand. Well informed Auckland people believe the Opposition will win, but the division is expected to be very close. Kissling, [Registrar of the Supreme Court, or Cotter, Eegistration Officer, is likely to be appointed, solicitor for the Borough of Auckland. [feom anothee correspondent.] The manner in which the Wellington correspondent of the Kew Zealand Herald abuses Sir George Grey is undeserved and personally vindictive. Very little supervision must be exercised over the telegrams by the editor, and the Herald is fast getting into contempt owing to these uncalled for attacks upon Grey. Urgent wires from Wellington just now state that Hurst is sitting on a rail. The Bank of New Zealand is in a fearful funk, and Ministerial creatures are getting pouri. If Government find the majority is likely to be against them to-morrow, they will further talk against time with a view of manipulating, and possibly get pressure to bear on those few who are opposed to the retention of Hall and his colleagues in office. This will have a most damning effect on New Zealand outside of the colony. Further wires to hand state that Government are very doubtful of Hurst's and Swanson's votes, in whinh case out the Ministry go if both go into the Opposition lobby.
