On Saturday we were only able io give the result of the morning squad in connection with the match got up by the Thames Scottish Battalion, armed with the new weapon served out to them last week. The men of the two teams speak highly of the new weapon, and expect when better acquainted with it to make higher scoring than with the old weapon. The victorious team scored a totaljof 1017 to their opponents 910. A meeting of the battalion was held in the evening, when ilajor Watson announced the result of the match amid cheering. He also stated that a meeting of both teams had been held, and they had requested him to invite the battalion and band to supper on Wedntsday evening, at 8 30. The following are the total scores : —
Petty Officer Potts, the district marker, and his assistant officiated at the targets all day, and gave every satisfaction. Lieutenants Coney, Crump, the Adjutant (Schofield,) and Sergt.
