PARLIAMENTARY GOSSIP.
[By Telegsaph.] (FROM OUli SPECIAL CORRESPONDENT.) Wellington. This day. The Commissioners of Public Debts report that the funds held by them on the thirteenth of June last amounted .to £157,859. There is no probability of a division on Mr Ormond's motion before Tuesday. Both sides appear equally anxious to allow time for Driver's arrival, as he is certain to carry two other votes with him, which both sides hope to get; but even giving Government this advantage, the Opposition has a clear majority of three. All other business is postponed pending the^result of the division. The impression is that Ministers, if defeated, will not ask a dissolution, but resign, in hope of Ormond being unable to carry on business. There is little doubt, however, that Ormond is working with a strong party, and is quite able to form a powerful Government.
