London, July 18. Consols, 1011; New Zealand securities remain firm at last quotations. Adelaide and New Zealand breadstuff's are without a quotable change. Accounts are to hand from the Kentish hop grounds, which give less favorable reports of the stato of the seasons crops. The English, Scottish, and Australian Bank declared a dividend of 4 per ceDs. for the past half year, and carries forward £4000 to the Reserve Fund. The very Rev. A. P. Stanley, Dean of Westminster, is alarmingly ill, and his physicians give no hopes of his recovery. New Yobk, July 18. A very severe tornado passed over the greater part of the State of Minnesota to-day, causing immense destruction to property, and a beavy financial loss has resulted. London, July 38. In the House of Commons to-day Mr Gladstone announced that the Irish Land Commission had been appointed, and would consist o.f the following members ■; —Lord O'Hagan (Lord Chancellor of Ireland), Mr E. F. Litton (member for Tyrone), and Mr Vergon, Land Agent. London, July 19. Dean Slaulcy died today, aged 66, very generally regretted. Surprise is expressed at the names of the members of the Irish Land Commis sion, and the appointments are considered weak ; they will be strongly opposed by the Irish members in the House of Commons.
