In the Supreme Court the charge of perjury against Shepherd the Whatawhata settler, broke down on a technical flaw in the indictment.
The hearing of the arson ease against the Bindons' is tixetl for Monday.
The Quarantine Officer yesterday, refused to recognise the recommendation of the Local Board of Health, for releasing the Hero's passengers, and telegraphed to the Government for instructions. The latter instructed him to release them, and though the Board of Health was sitting, he made no communication tb them, but proceeded to order their release himself. On learning this the Board immediately resigned.
