WAITETE.
(PBOM A CORRESPONDENT.)
Wednesday.
The Comstock, on the Puketui hills, have cut a fine reef, from which good prospects are obtained. The Young Colonial hare cut the Prospectors reef, but are not yet through it; a little gold is obtained by washing. They expect to be through it on Friday.
Little Tommy have got into the solid, and have cut a nice looking leader. The country looks well for carrying gold.
The Martha have a really fine show in their intermediate level —strong flaky gold showing from wall to wall, and apparently getting better, towards the Young Colonial. The trial parcel of five tons is nearly all in the battery at Owharoa, and will be crushed early next week.
The Dulcibel, Waitete, and Jones' Claims have suspended work for the present, pending arrangements for amalgamation and erection of a battery.
