The s.B. Eotomahana brought neither passengers nor'mails owing to doubts of being quarantined.
Samuel Thornelly, carter, killed at the gravel pits, had insured his life for £500.
The Tangihua picked up a boat drifting near Mangewhare this morning, containing the lifeless body of John Case. Deceased had been working at Downing's orchard.
Mr Hales, District Engineer, has visited the quarantine station at Motuihi in the Custom's launch for the purpos^of seeing personally the real requirements of the
place.
John Irwin, arrested for horse stealing f has been remanded to Tauranga.
