Mining Review of the Week.
The gold return for the past week is an exceptionally good one, and some of the individual crushings have yielded splendid returns, especially those of Hunter and party of" the Coliban, and Clarke of the Cure. The splendid yield of Hollis' crushing at Waitekauri has attracted considerable attention towards that locality, which may result in miners finding their way to that district. News from Waitete is also encouraging, and the erection of a battery id now almost a settled matter,
several Auckland captitalists having taken the project in hand. News from Owharoa is also encouraging, and Cambpell's return of 90ozs should stimulate the shareholders of other mines to persevere in their exet* tions. No good news has, however, came from Te Aroha, which seems at present to be at a standstill, very little being done in the mines, and the majority of the workmen have left for Waitekauri and Waiteto.
