This and part of old stopes, with side leaders, are now being stoped out, small patches of picked stone being occasionally obtained. Nonpareil, No. 5 level.: In driving east, the reef is eighteen inches thick, bat rather broken. . On breaking a lump of this quartz in the battery a nice patch of gold WRsTound in tiie centre, wbiohM|»v|B; 7ozs amalgam, but the crushing stuff is of low grade. No. 3 reef, in back of 132 feet level shows colours of gold, but there is no change to report. Central Italy cross* cut, .tunnel level: 25 feet more driving^ will break through to the shaft; During * the past month 433 tons of stuff have been treated, yielding 1370zs gold,-—I am, &o, BobebtOomeb. ; ,
NEW GOLOEN: C&O WN. In this mine the manager reports a little picked stone coming' to hand froip the footwall leader and the intermediate level. The cross-cat from the main' reef to the northern block pf footwall leader has been completed during the past week, and crushing from here has been resumed. I The winze from battery level to 100 feet 7 | level on No. 1 battery level reef has been holed through, and sloping was started .. here to-day. No qhange report has " occurred in the tHher* workings. The battery has been working full time, and during the last day .or two the crushing has beeA shaping tor a better return. NEW NORTH DEVON. Ten' Head of 'stamp's tire going on this company's stuff at the" Herald mill. , 1 , . GOLD KETtJBNS. MoiKlTaißi.~Rea and party have finished a crashing of about 25 tons of generat dirt and 401bs of picked stone at this battery for a return of 49oss 7dwts retorted gold. Goldsworthy and party have 'finished crushing at the Koranni Hill battery' for the yield of 35ozs 12dwts'gotd. Blub Jacket.—Frearson and party's crushing yielded 4ozs 9dwts gold.
