A long aud animated debate took place in the Legislative Assembly last night in regard to the Reform Bill. Messrs Fincham, Deakirig, and Grabes strenuously opposed its arrangement, and the Opposition unanimously supported Sir Bryan O'LoghleuV motion that another conference of the two Houses should be held. Finally a motion for the adjournment of the debate was carried, although opposed by Government. The steamship Albion, which sailed yesterday for the Bluff, took the English mails dated London, May 6th, which arrived per K.M.S, Cathay, MeIiBOUKNB, Tuesday. Mr Byron Moore hat accepted the secretaryship of the Victorian Bacing Club. At a caucus of Ministerialists held today, it was decided by 33 to 4 to abandon the Reform Bill. On Parliament re-assembling today, Mr Berry made a statement in which he confirmed the aunouueement of the Ministerial caucus. Sir Bryan O'Laghlan, thereupon, moved' that anot her conference of the t ffb Houses should be held on the bill. A desultory debate followed, and. still continues, Sailed: The Union Company's steam* ship Allnou, for the Bluff, tail afternoon.
