CHRISTCHURCH.
This day. Nine men were charged with embezzling cargo from the barque Remington to the extent of four cases of milk, four ditto brandy, one ditto schnapps, and eight bottles of stout ; value, £21 4s 9d. Four of them got nine months' hard labor, four three months, and other was admitted to give evidence and let off; the costs of the prosecution and the damage to be paid bj prisoners.
