Tbe partner of bi>r griefs and joys, The sharer of hrr life, The father of her children, The one who called her wife, Has been summoned by the Shepherd* To join the hearenly fold, - Where griefs and trouble* are not known, And.joyd abound tutold^ Her children clutter round her,, • , ,;■ And add flwir pries to those- ** Which, bursting from the widow's heart, Disclose its anguished throes, As they recall his many deeds Of kindness, and of care, They with that they had died with him, His happiness, to, share. Ah ! None can tell the yearning pain Of trouble such as this, But those who've had a husband's And a father's loving kiss; Who've been as one, united, In a bond of holy love, ' And watched by the 'all teeing eye' Of' God, in Heaven above.
