Dukxdin, This day. Mr Olirer addressed the Donedin electors last night. He claimed for him* self and party the title of true Liberals, and pointed out hoir they had carried through the Liberal measures of which others only insincerely talked. He advocated Hare'i system of representation, and • expressed his warn- approval of Hall's, proposed Upper Homm reform;»nd gafe 1 Mr Bryce credit for hAti»»refoms aid \ averting war, which at one time appeared imminent. They had made retrenchments, * bat had it been left with the Government they would have saved as much with less
injustice to service as the indiscriminaU 10 ocr cent, which the House had insisted oh." He mtroduwd a system of promotion, of men employed, and revised tanffs.
