The Debat9 on the Land Bill. Consols remain at 102f. New Zealand securities are unchanged, the quotations being:—s per cent 10-40 loan, 105; 5 per cent 1889 loan, 405; 4§ per cent 1879-1904 loan, 103. Adelaide wheat ex warehouse, continues at 495, and New Zealand at 455. Adelaide flour is quoted at 33s 6d, ex warehouse; Australian tallow, best beef, 34s 6d, best mutton, 375. In the House of Commons today the Irish Land Bill came up for consideration in Committee of the whole. On the first clause being moved a long and animated debate ensued, and still- continues up to the present time. 1500 amendments to the rarious clauses of the measures hare been entered on the order paper, and notices continue to be giren of fresh amendments.* At the wool sale to-day 8,400 bales were offered, making a total of 168,000 catalogued since the opening. A good demand was experienced for tbe various lots offered. * London, May 30. A settlement of the difficulty between British and American Governments in connection with the Fortune Bay Fishery dispute has been arrived at. lit accordance with terms of agreement came to, England will pay £1500 as compensation.
