The Borough Council in committee last night, adopted a scheme for extending the water supply to the hill portions of the town. It ia estimated to cost £10,000,
Acting on the decision re the Boojum collision case, the Insurance Companies will pay the claims ot consignees, and then come on the Union Company for recovery.
In transhipping Herr Bandmann's luggage from the lighter to the Arawata, the tackle broke, droping three boxes containing theatrical wardrobe into the sea. The boxes were recovered, but Bandraann estimated the damage to the dresses at £300, and holds the Union Company responsible.
The Acclimatisation Society have received an invoice from Japan of fifty giant chestnut trees, a thousand persimmons, and twenty-seven varieties of bamboo; the shipment left Japan in March last.
