The Tarawa as she ngw lies on the Otira reef was sold yesterday, there was little or no bidding, and the wreck, together with all gear and fitting belonging tq the vessel subject to right of the owner or owners of eargo y-to libor for the *ecovery of cargo or my portion thereof was knocked down to James Mills, of the Union Company for £20. One boat lying on the beach near the wreck was sold to Nimmo and Blair for £7 IQ3 and another at Port Chalmers to Mjlls for £15. ft was stated at the sale that the Govern? ment intended to send down divers to recorer the old silver in the hold of the vessel. At the inqueg* on Garrett, who died from injuries received at the Iloslyn tramway accident, the jury returned a
verdict of "Manslaughter against the Conductor," who wes comjaittad for trial, bail being rllowed, himself in £100, and two sureties of £50 each.
