Meeting of the Thames Scottish. Battalion.

*' A large nnmber of members of the above assembled at the Governor B^wen Hote,! on Saturday afternoon. Murray who took the chair, explained that his object was to place his resignation of the command of the battalion in their hands. Colonel to the Battalion-1> This was seconded by Lieut* Johnston* and carried with vociferous applause. Captain Watson was then unanimously; elected Major of the battalion. Capt. Comer then tendered his resigna* tion, saying he had found himself too old a man to acquire the smartness necessary for an officer, and the time at his disposal was not enbu^h to properly discharge thef duties.
