OLD GOLDEN CALF.

The best gold! yet. seen in the Calf was obtained to-day at No. 2 lerel justbeyond the slide. The specimens were taken from the floor of the drive and apparently from the very heart of the reel. As gold has been found in a corresponding position at Ifo/3 level, this presages a prosperous future for this mine. There is every probability that a big patch of gold lies in one of Iho reofs between the two slides.

NEW GOLDEN CROWN

Cleaning up took place this morning, tbe melted result being 4050zs .gold! The total amount of stuff crashed was 350 tons, and the excellence of the yield is largely due to the way the dirt from the No 1 reef at the 40 feet level shaped. At first it only yielded at the rate of lldwts per ton so that the improvement has been -material. A dividend will' be declared immediately.

Moanataiari.—-Waite and party and Brown and party have finished their crusbings for the respective yields of 6ozs 13dwts and 6ozs 3dwts of gold. Caledonian. —A crushing for Obuglien and party produced 12ozs 14dwts gold. :;
