. London, April 7. The Tichbouae case is again brought before the public, by the solicitor for the Claimant, who is engaged in collecting evidence 'fo? the purpose of submitting the whole case to Parliament, askine its intervention, on the ground that new faots have since been brought to light. • . London, April 10. A Bankruptcy Bill has been introduced in the House of Commons by the Attor-ney-General, and read a first time. The provisions of the bill are of a wide character, and secure valid reforms in the existing. Proposals are made whereby the liquidation of insolvent estates may be carried out at decreased coat to the creditors, and the measure contains drastic provisions against fraud. The leaders of the Irish Land League are making strenuous efforts for ramifications, and branches being established in all parts of_the country. During the last week 67 branches have been opened. The Government have. decided to take active measures.tp put down the Land League agitation in Ireland.
Earl Cowper, Lord Lieutenant of
Ireland, has issued instructions to the magistracy thoughout the country to suppress the illegal courts established by the "League, which have exercised an enormous influence on the people. All persons concerned in any way in the courts are liable to punishment, and under the more stringent powers recently conferred upon the executive, the operations of the law will be more strictly enforced.
The will of the late Thomas Oarlyle, the well known author, has been proved. The personal property is sworn at under £45,000. ;
