Kuranui Hill United Meeting.
[By Telegraph.]
(FKOM A COBREBPONDENT.)
AUCKLAND
This day.
A meeting of the Kuranui Hill United Company was held to-day on the question of a change of the management of the mine. Mr Laishley's motion that the directors give Mr Walker notice that his services are no longer required, on the ground of want of success, was urged.
Messrs Buchanan, JNTolan, McCullough, and the Chairman spoke of the injustice of discharging the manager on such grounds, when there was no question cf want of competency or dishonesty.
Mr Lennox moved that the matter remain in the hands of the directors ; they had more experience and it would be a vote of want of confidence in them to take their prerogative from them.
. A long discussion ensued and the amendment was put and carried on the voices. The votes were then taken, 14 for and 5 against.
