Melbottbne, This day. A Petty Larceny, A bag containing .one thousand sovereigns is missing from the Commercial Bank of Australia. The affair is involved in mystery, but evidence so far, would indicate that the money has been stolen. Melbourne, Friday. Arrived: The Union Company's s.s. I Te Anau, from the Bluff. Sydney, Friday. New Zealand wheat was quoted to-day at 4s 2d per bushel; maize, per 601bs, 3s; candles, D.E.J's., per lb, B£d ; D.R.O's., B|d. Two hundred of the Marquis de Eay's New Ireland immigrants arrived here from New Caledonia to day. Arrival of Laycock. Elias Laycock, the celebrated oarsman, arrived here today, per Lusitania, from England, and was accorded a warm reception, great crowds meeting him on arrival of the steamer. Adelaide, Friday. Wheat, per bushel, 4s 4d to 4s sd. A little business has been done during the week in flour. Current rates are:— Town brands, £13 5s to £10 7s 6d; country do., £9 10s. Freights to London, by steamer, are 45s ; do., sailing vessels, 42s 6d.
