Tiekman's Claim.—l visited this mine to-day, when some rich stone was broken out from the drive, while I was there. The party intend crushing what stone is in hand next week, and something like 2Oozb per ton is anticipated. 501bs of specimens were taken in a short time.
Hebnan's claim ia getting out first class crushing stone to-day, and the shareholders look forward to getting specimens as soon as they are in. a little further, which will be in the course of » day or two.
lv a claim situated next to Emily and JNatire Chief, a meeting of the shareholders is convened to dißouss the desirability of the claim joining with the Colonial with a view to put both into a
company. It is anticipated that the machinery for the Tiki will be got to its position in the course of a week or ten days days.
A miner named Edward Davis, a large shareholder in the Just-in-Time claim, fell dead in the drive while cutting up a pipe of tobacco. An inquest will be held to-morrow.
A number of people went to the Tiki to-day to see Blackmore's splendid stone ; everything there points to a stable future for the district.
