NEW GOLDEN CROWN.
Owing to the fact that the broken pipe near the Herald battery was being replaced yesterday and to-day, the batteries depending on the County Supply for motive power have been stopped, the Golden Crown amongst others. The battery being full of quartz, all the mine hands, with the exception of six, are idle until crushing can be resumed. To prevent a recurrence of such a thing in future, it would be advisable to place a valve between the Alburnia and Crown batteries, or between the former and the Herald.
