OAMARU.

This day

Two stacks of oats and a stack of wheat belonging to John Lawrence were destroyed by fire on Saturday night. It is evident that the fire was the deliberate act of an incendiary, for the straw had been pulled out and laid down between the stacks, which were about 12 feet apart. The stacks were about half a mile from the main road, and were insured in the Victoria Company for £70, about one third of their value.
