Mr McDonald, Native Agent of the West Coast, now at Cambridge, it is believed, will get one thousand from the Fatetere Land Association as a bonus, as some would call it. Interests must be large when such handsome presentß are given for what may be conjectured as for keeping quiet. Coromandel County is likely to get £500 towards the Tiki dictrict from the. Hon Mr Rolleston, as he authorised £250 on the condition that Coromaodel County got a like overdraft from the Bank of New Zealand. The latter request is certain to be acceded to.
Another highly paid civil servant, the public trustee, has returned here from a sojourn at the Hot Lakes, and will very likely be another royal commission himself. ;
Sir George Grey's health is much improved. He intends to visit your district and Coromandel before going South.
