Rumored Find at Te Aroha.
A gentleman who arrived here from Te Aroha informs us of a circumstance which has been exercising the minds of the good people of the Upper Waihou during the past two or three days. It is currently reported that the shareholders of the Smile of Fortune claim struck good gold in their leader, but being desirous of keeping the matter secret, had six pounds weight of the quartz tested sub rosa. It has leaked out that the result was half an ounce of gold. If the story is true, it may be the cause of the rumors current both here and at Cambridge the latter part of last week. The gentleman who gave us the above information likewise stated that the Tui claim had been taken up by Dick White, and operations had been resumed therein. '
