This day. Mr Hursfchouse addressed Hs constituents at Waimea West on Saturday ni^ht, and expressed an opinion that there would be no fresh taxation imposed during next, session except that the exemption under the Property Tax would be reduced. He received a vote of thanks.

COEOM^NDEL. This day. Mysterious Disappearance of a Miner from Tokatea. A. man named John Burke, a brother of Mrs Ke?ry, has been missing since Saturday morning, lis coat, hat, and crib were, found in the drive in whioh he wa3 working about noon on Saturday. Search parties have been out in every direction since then, but up to the present no tidings have been received. It is supposed his reason must be affectd.
