NAPIER.
Friday. The races (second day) were continued this afternoon. Handicap Hurdles — j Nolan 1, Ada 2, Eawenata 3. Camelia hurt herself in the Produce Stakes, and died on the course. Latee. The Napier races were well attended, and afforded some good sport, though the enjoyment was somewhat marred by the judge's decision in the Tradesmen's Handicap being questioned by some. There was an exciting finish between Libeller and Mavis, the impression of many being that it was a dead heat. The judge, however, gave it to Mavis. Tradesmen's Handicap.—Mavis 1, Libeller 2, Robinson's Natator 3.
Hawke's Bay Plate.—Natator 1, Foul Play 2. The Hack Hurdles was won by Sussex, Jack Spratt second. Consolation.—My Dream 1, Merlin 2, Miss Domett 3.
