Williams' eh g 30 0.P., late Eclipse (Webb) 0 During the first round Skykrk took the lead, Derby second, with Ratcatcher third. 30 O.P. was left at the post, and Formosa was never in it. During the second round Eatcatcher passed Derby, and pushed Skylark hard, but the latter managed to land a winner by a length. Consolation Eace of 7 soys. Distance, one mile.. Mr J. C. Williams' 30 O.P. (Byers)... 1 Mr Quinlivan's Derby .(Quinlivan, junr.) 2 Mr J. E. Sawyer's Formosa ... ... . 3 This was the best contested race of the day, the horses being well matched. Mr Williams' horse ran gamely and well, and won after a hard struggle with Derby. The victory was a most popular one. This concluded the programme, and the crowd began to wend their way homewards.
