In accordance with their usual custom, the members of the Star of Htiuraki Tent of Rechabites will hold their annual soiree on the occasion of their quarterly meeting on Wednesday, the 23rd insl.
MAJOB Mubrax, as will be seen from advertised District Orders, has requested the various Volunteer and cadet companies to parade for reception of the Nelson men on their return. The parade will count as a monthly inspection. The time of arrival of the Nelson shootists is not yet-ascertained, but as soon as ifcia the hour will be advertised, and the inspection p trade will be held half an hour previously.
The following are the gentlemen picked to do battleforthe Thames at Parawaito-morrow, against the eleven of the Auckland United C.C.':—Messrs Steadman, Stafford, Smith, But tie, W. Gray T. Lawless, Weston, Webber, Spencer, Turner, Harrison. Emergency men : Messrs Burgess, J. iivay. Mr Carnell of Coromandel has kindly consented to act as umpire.
