AUCKLAND.
This day,
The Central Waikato hotel at Te Awamutu was considerably damaged by a fire, discovered in the bar this morning. It was, however, subdued by great exertions without it extending to the main part of the building.
The Grammar School inquiry still continues. The evidence of the liev. Gulliver, one of the masters, was strongly adverse to the organisation and efficiency of the school. Mr Biss, Chief Postmaster, also gave adverse testimony.
