Rifle Camp, This day, 3.2 p.m
There is great excitement about Paynter and Hoskin for the Rifle Belt, but not so much about the Carbines.
France and Armstrong are leading, Cameron, Harris, and Dixon being three points behind.
About ten of the top riflemen and ten of the top carbines will not start the last match till about three o'clock. The others are finished now, Griffiths (Blenheim) making 72 and Sanders (Taranalii) 71. Lots of " cracks " to go yet.
