Principal (from the city through the telephone, to the foreman at the " works "): " How do you get on Pat ? "
Irish foreman (in great awe of the instrument): " Very well sir, the goods is sent off."
Principal (knowing Pat's failing) " What have you got to drink there ? "
Pat (startled). "Och! Look at that now ! It's me breath that done ]*„"
Hungry visitor, (seeing "WeJshE.abbit, 6d" in a restaurant windo^f): "Ah, Donal, mon, we ken weel hey the rawbit for a saxpence. We ken get two bawbees for the skeen whea we get back to Grlas* gie."
Doctor's daughter : "I declare, you're a dreadful fanatic, Mrs McCissom. Ido believe you think nobody will be saved but you and the minister."
" Old lady: " Awell, my dear, at whiles ah hae ma doobts about the meenister."
