Telegrams to hand to-day from .Natal announce that Sir Evelyn Wood has left General Colley's camp at the Ingogo, and is now returning to Pieterrnaritzburg to expedite the dispatch of further reinforcements to the front. The Orient Company's steamship Lusitania left Plymouth yesterday for Australia. Laycock, the Australian sculler, is a passenger by her to Sydney. Fears of a Fenian attempt to blow up Windsor Castle having been dispelled, Her Majesty the Queen has now returned to-Windsor. Parnell lias returned to London from Paris, and has resumed his seat in the House of Commons. The Speaker of the House of Commons has now somewhat modified the rules which he had lately made for the repression of disorder in the House. Several Home Eulers have seceded from i?arnell's leadership because of his action in " coquetting " with Communists during his recent visit to Paris. St. Petersburg, Feb. IS. It is announced that General Skobeloff, commander oft the expedition agianst the Tekke-Turcoman, is: returning to Russia. The communications which he has recently made to his Government fully confirm the reports previously received that the Turcomans now show a disposition to conclude a peace. • ' ■ Calcutta, February 18. News hasbeen; received here that .the; Ameer of Afghanistan has left Cabul on a special mission to Peshawur, and will shortly afterwards come on a visit to this city. ; February 19. Telegrams are to hand containing a report that an enemy corps, organised by the Ameer, has left Cabul for Ghuznee, but the object of the movement is not known.

In reference to recently published papers regarding discoveries made by General Roberts in Cabul, it is now officially announced that the Eussian Government has explained to England that General Skobeloff, prolonged his intrigues in Afghanistan because he was ignorant of the fact that the Berlin Treaty had been signed by the Powers. It is further, stated by the Eussian Government that the Ameer Sheer Ali proposed an offensive and defensive treaty of alliance, but that proposal was rejected by the Eussian general.
