COUNTY COUNCIL.

A special meeting was held this morning. Present—Crs Brodie (Chairman), Porter, Carpenter, Deeble, Greenville, and Bagnall.

The; first business was the selection of two members for the Harbor Board, which resulted in Crs Brown and Bagnall being re-elected. Ec water for Block 27, Crs Brodie, Deeble and Greenville were appointed a committee to wait upon the Borough to ascertain the intentions of that body.

A deputation was heard of settlers from the Waikawau Block asking for the construction of a road to enable goods and necessaries to be brought to their homesteads. It was decided to at once spend a sum of £20 on the work.
