Ctpeus.—A correspondent of the Gibralter Chroaicle in Cyprus writes as follows oo Dee. 5 :—Her Majesty's ship Tamp, Captain W. H. Liddell, arrived at Limassol ou the afternoon of" the sth with the head-quarters and a wing of the 35th Begimem; on board. The 35th disembarked on the following morning, relieving the 20th regiment, who, to the regret of every one concerned are leaving for Malta. On the evening of the 4th» the officers of the regiment were entertained at dinner by the members of the Limassol Club. His Excellency, Sir E. Biddulph, the Commissioner, and, in fact, all the leading English residents were present. The health of the regiment, proposed b^r Colonel Damaresq, K.E. S was drunk the greatest enthusiasm. Her Majesty's ship Eapid arrived at Limmassol ©a the 4th. Energetio measures &r© being taken by the Government to the suppression of the plague of locusts, each inhabitant being bound to send in eight ok.es (about 191bJ weight of locust eggs. Many thousand pounds weight are thus sent in and destroyed.
