Revivalist Services.
A large crowd assembled last evening to hear Mrs Hampson preach in the Academy of Music. The able preacher took for her text, Luke xviii 37, " Jesus of Nazareth passeth by." She graphically described the spiritual blindness with which people were afflicted now a days. The lady was listened to with reverent attention, and, judging from the earnest expression on the face of her audience, it would appear as if her earnest appeals had taken root; Mrs Hampson will preside at the Academy of Music this evening, and to-morrow night she will preach in the paddock adjoining the Wesleyan Church, Willoughby street, Shortland, at six "'clock. We understand that several of the Churches will be closed to-morrow evening in order to allow the congregations to hear the eloquent lady. For the convenience of people attending at the Academy of Music this evening, the doors will be open at 6.30, in order to give them ample opportunity for settling themselves before the service commences.
