Revivalist Services.

The Academy of Music was filled to overflowing last night to hear Mrs Hamp son, the Evangelist preacher. The stage, passages, and every available foot of standing room was eagerly secured, and many had to leave without hearing the address. Punctually at eight o'clock Mrs Hampsou commenced the services by reading a hymu from Sankey's Collection, which was well sung by the choir, after

which the Bey. T. L. Davies and Mr G. Hemus engaged in prayer. Mrs Hampson next read in a very impressive manner the 55th chapter of Isaiah, and commented as she read. This was a most pleasing portion of the service, and gave an opportunity for Mrs Hampson to display the forcible and intelligent manner in which she expresses her thoughts. She possesses a good voice, well under command, and speaks very fluently. The address was delivered upon St. Paul's declaration— " I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ," and occupied over an hour in delivery. The speaker has great earnestness, and appears strongly excited at times, while the interest of the hearers is kept up by well told anecdotes and touching appeals to the feelings. The sermon was attentively listened to, and concluded with prayer and singing. The services will be continued each evening during this week.
