OUR MINES.

MOANATAIAEI.

The manager reports for the fortnight as follows:— *' Point Eussel, creek level: Driving east has been suspended; the lode was 2j feet thick, but very low grade stuff. In order to thoroughly prospect the country, a crosscut north has now been started, 100 feet being let by contract at 18s. This drive will pass throughgood country, and should intersect some golden leaders. The Central Italy adit level is still progressing favourably. 80 feet level: The old crosscut is repaired home to solid ground, and a new one is now being pushed ahead to prospect the Morning Star section, near, main slide. Two stopes have been suspended, and the others show no change to report! The stuff obtained throughout is of low grade. R. Comeb."
