NELSON. ■ ' s This day. The "Wesleyan Conference. The report of the Committee relative to the Ecumenical Congress was read, and, after much discussion, it was resolved that the Conference be represented by one minister and one layman—the Eev. Eeid and Mr Ballantyne (now in London). It was agreed that the expenses, including a substitute, be £300, which be raised by subscription. A long report from the Executive Committee of the Home Mission Funds has been received. It showed that the income had been below the estimate, and that a loss had been incurred by the insolvency of one of the trustees. It was recommended among other things that the grant to the English circuits be reduced 20 per cent The report is still under discussion.
