Naval Brigade Prize Firing.

The Narals assembled at the range, Parawai, yesterday morning to complete the aggregate for choice of representatives at the forthcoming meeting of the New Zealand Rifle Association at Nelson, to be held in March. The weather was not favourable fjr large scores being made, there being a strong gusty windfrom the right and right rear, but some very fair scores were made. The ranges were 200, 3CO, 430, and SCO yards; 7 shots at each range; 8-inch bull's-eye at 200 and 300 yards. The following are the highest scorers in the aggregate :—

It will be seen from the above scores that Lieutenant Gordon has, unfortunately, not qualified himself as a representative, but, judging from a remark made by Major Murray at the close of. last evening's inspection, we have little doubt that Lieutenant Gordon will attend the Nelson meeting and make his mark, as he has not hitherto failed to do.
