COLUMBIA.
The manager of this mine, Mr Radford reports as follows to the directors :—" On visiting ths mine yesterday I am happy to infovm you I noticed a great change ageia taking place in the reef in the Pap.ikura secio^, and wh'ch I hope will be for the Letter, as the poor hungry looking quartz hav3 disappeared as well as the dark heavy clay—there being now a nice reef in the fate, carrying good minei'als, wih good s..nds '.one walls looking very promising, and at times we see a few colors of gold. The greater portion of the reef is now being saved for another trial crushing. A rough measurement of the drive has been taken to ascertain its position with some of the upper workings, and we find we are now. within 20 or 30 feet of some old workings from where some good returns were obtained. I am in hopes the change now perceptible may bring us on to this run, where we may expect some payable dirt. The drive in the New North Devon going towards your ground still looks well, the reef well defined and keeping its course, although not so large as formerly; but should it oontiuue t.% at present, there is
I every prospect of its being agreafc Bu«cess j for your mine."
