The recent^ holidays completely placed a veto on all working operations •. until a few days ago when men returned , to the mines refreshed by the recreation of the past fortnight. Some returned from Auckland and the Waikato, while others had, paid a visit to the classic spots in the Tauranga district.. The Big Pump has been kept going, and there is a prospect ; of the companies being able in a very short time, to pursue the long desired prospecting at low levels.
