A meeting- of the House Committee of the Thames Hospital was held to-day at which it was agreed that the man King (referred to in our report of the proceedings at the Hospital meeting yesterday) be given in care of Mr and Mrs Ryan. Mrs Ryan has been most attentive to.-him during his illness, and ife will be more convenient for her to hate him at her own home. Messrs McCuliough and Mcllbone, after consultation with Dt Payne, visited the Hospital this afternoon, and made arrangements for his removal to-morrow morning. Poor King is a member of the Hibernian Society, and, consequently, will be under the medical care of Dr Callan. It is not. expected that be will long survive.
Abottt twenty minute 3to three o'clcck yesterday morning, Constable McManus, v.ho was on duty in Shortland, observed flames and smoke issuing from a portion of the buildings occupied in times paßt by Raithby, Muir, and Co., Willougby-street. He immediately secured a bucket from Mrs Muhoney's, and in a short time succeeded in extinguishing the conflagration. It is fortunate he observed'it in time, as a few minutes later the" •Ad? -^ould have gaaaed. such headway as ' woureraave^o'nS'ftngTJHWlwmxildingS'' in -the immediate vicinity.
