Racing Tips.

[Bt Old Spoet.]

The principal theme of conversation now, is the Race Meeting under the Under the auspices of the Thames Jockey Club. I have seen most of the horses, and having a pretty good idea of their respective capabilites, 1 will essay to point out the beasts in the different eventßjbat I consider pretty sure things. In the Flying Stakes which is a weight for age race I will spot Flora or Sunbeam—the former for choice. Both horses carry liberal weights. For the Steward's Handicap Flora, Golden Crown, Matlock and Ratcatcher have accepted, and I think either the Crown or Matlock will take the money. Ratcatcher, though a good horse, is over-weighted with his 9st 41 bs. Akeake, who is a sure jumper, should be right for the hurdles, with Venus well up. In the Railway Stakes I again look to Flora to be the winner, though Ratcatcher may press him hard. Sunbeam ought to secure a place. Matlock ■hould carry the honors of the Local Rtce, with Skylark second. The latter cannot give Matlock 12lbs in H n»les, nor has he had sufficient training to be in it. The big event, the Thames Jockey Club Handicap, should belong to Golden Grown, though Ratcatcher is to be feared, despite his over weight of 181bs. In this I believe Akeake will secure a place.
