Paeroa Licensing Court.
(Before H. Xenrick, Esq., Licensing
Commissioner.)
With reference to the report of the police, our contemporary is in error,, as the Licensing Commissioner, after risiting the houses of Lipsey and Mahoney, withheld the license from Mahoney, and compelled Lipsey to erect two rooms, shingle roof bouse, line and paper bedrooms, repair stable, and erect a urinal for the accommodation of the public, also compelling Morris Power to erect one additional room, Coote to erect two additional rooms, Cassells and Bennett to provide another private parlor, and paper the passage leading to the billiard-room. From the report in the Advertiser this morning, it would appear that the report of the. police was. not confirmed by the Bench, whereas such was not the case, as the conditions imposed will clearly prove. Mahoney's license was refused on the ground that he had not sufficient accommodation, and that the house was not required in the town. ■
