This day. The man who was killed at Mosgiel by a gunpowder blast on Friday was named Luke.
The prisoaer Edwards who gallantly rescued. & girl from drowning at Port Chalmers has been pardoned. The Blenheim libel case Griffiths v. Johnson, which has occupied the Court two days, terminated last night. The Jury retired shortly after 3 o'clock, and returned at 6.5, when the foreman stated they could not agree, and asked for refreshments. The Chief Justice granted the request, and ordered them back. At midnight the jury still disagreeing were discharged.
