There are four thousand persons in Auckland liable to the Property Tax by possessing property above the value of £500. ' The Admiralty House here is being renovated for the reception of the Com* modore of the station. The Postal, Telegraphic, Fire Brigade, Police Stations, and Public Offices are to be shortly connected by telephone. Mormon-ism Exposed. J. T. Lunnon, late priest of the Canterbury.Mormon mission, who left Auckland with Elder Pearce for Utah, sent a letter to the Auckland Star in which he says having learned there is to be another exodus of deluded Mormon victims from New Zealand to Utah, he considers it his duty before God and man to warn intend* i ing immigrants. He says the Mormon priesthood as a rule consists of liars, debauchees, and murderers, and instances John Taylor, who had four wives living while teaching in France that plurality of wives was not taught by the Mormon doctrine. The letter gives instances of the seduction of young -women. He concludes, " Mormonism is nothing but a well organised system of disloyalty and deception, luring thousands to poverty •very year. If some of the Mormon elders had their deserts they would have been in gaol while in New Zealand for

indecent assault or something worse. I could tell a long story of their actions while in New Zealand."
